Recently I read an article on a leadership Forum, that posed an interesting observation, quoted below.
Lessons for a Fatherr -
Taking our trash out...regularly
Trash needs to be taken out from our house but also from within ourselves regularly. If we do not do it, our lives will stink.
( Piyoosh Rai posted this in Collaborative Leadership & Problem Solving )
Many people like to hang on to their trash, as it gives them a sense of security but I have always called it excess baggage.
Excess baggage has a price and for as long as people hang on to it, they continue to pay for it.
Sometimes people carry grudges against others, often for no good reason, and while this makes no difference to the person against whom the grudge is kept, it debilitates and distorts the holder of such grudges.
Beware the cost of excess baggage ( rubbish ), as an individual, a company or a nation.
